The Man Up Foundation, established in 2013 by Dejon and Shellee Jernagin, was born out of a commitment to support single mothers raising boys aged 8-21 by providing essential life skills training. Over the years, the foundation has transformed the lives of hundreds of young men, empowering them to realize their full potential and achieve their dreams, including pursuing higher education and becoming valuable members of their communities.
Since its inception, The Man Up Foundation has expanded its offerings to include a diverse range of programs aimed at holistic personal and professional development. In addition to life skills training, the foundation now provides innovative creative arts programs, leadership development initiatives, and opportunities for exploration in film and TV production.
Recognizing the importance of fostering entrepreneurial spirit and financial literacy, The Man Up Foundation has integrated entrepreneurship programs and financial literacy education into its curriculum.
